The most famous Minecraft myth — and one of the most iconic pieces of internet folklore ever created. Originated as a creepypasta: a Steve-like figure with blank white eyes lurking in fog, said to be Notch's deceased brother haunting the game. Notch played along perfectly, neither confirming nor denying. Mojang ran "Removed Herobrine" in patch notes for years as a running joke, even though he was never actually in the game. He represents the fear of the unknown in a procedurally infinite world. If he were canon, he would fit naturally as a corrupted Builder or a manifestation of the deep dark. Here is where the Buidlers begin. Resembling Steave, Herobrine, decided the world was too quiet. He decided to create an advanced race. The Builders. But, the Builders were greedy. Here the story changes in 2 ways. The first, is that Herobrine realized his mistake and desided to remove the Builders, but the Builders managed to seal Herobrines powers. In his last attempt to stop them, Herobrine made monsters that would fight the Builders and take them down. The 2nd option, is that Notch stepped in and Fought Herobrine. In his desparate hour, Herobrine made monsters that would cause chaos into the world before Herobrine was removed.
